DAY 25 - Overflowing For Others
Read It
2 Corinthians 9
Study It
Paul says, in verse 11, that when you and I are generous it leads to other people thanking God because of our generosity.
Whenever tragedy strikes, a lot of people speak up to offer thoughts and prayers. And we should always be grateful for thoughts and prayers. Yet at the same time, wouldn’t it be great if those thoughts and prayers inspired action?
When you give, you take a tangible step in action. Something inspired action in your life. You didn’t just think about doing something, ‘I will pray for God to send you someone who is generous’. No, you became the generous person when you took action.
You see, we don’t ask people to give just to pay the bills around the church. We ask people to give so that you and I can be a part of making a difference in the lives of the people in our community. Every single act of generosity toward our church is combined with other people’s generosity to make a very real difference in our cities. Your generosity is going to make other people’s lives better.
Randy Alcorn said it best when he said, “Giving is a giant lever positioned on the fulcrum of the world, allowing us to move mountains in the next world. Because we give, eternity will be different, for others and for us.’
What a powerful statement!

Live It
- Have you seen the impact of your generosity in someone else’s life? (Salvation, marriage restoration, believer growing in maturity)
- What could happen, if you and I together, brought our generosity to God and expected Him to move?
