DAY 21 - An Overflowing Wealth of Wisdom

Why is wisdom better than gold? We all know that gold is valuable. You can see the tangible benefits that it brings. Wisdom on the other hand…you can’t see it or smell it; feel it or taste it. No one is advertising for wisdom. But we are told that it’s far better than gold???
The truth is, wisdom will help you minimize your losses and maximize every gain. Wisdom will help you leverage every financial blessing in your life for the better and help us be in control of our finances and not the other way around.
Over the next few days we will try and lean into the wisdom of breaking our finances down into three buckets: Give; Save; Spend. Today we are going to start with the importance of…Making A Plan on what we spend.
The first thing financial wisdom teaches us is that we need a plan. No-one gets anywhere without a plan. The clothes on your back right now didn’t just show up on your body without any thought and intention.
Everyone is going to have a different relationship with money. Some of us are very comfortable with money and some of us are not. Some of us have more than enough and some of us are really struggling. No matter where we are we can work towards becoming better managers and stewards of what God has given us.

- Committed - This is the money that you already know is spoken for before you spend a single dollar. It’s rent, mortgage payments; utilities; subscriptions; giving should also be in here (more on that tomorrow).
- Spendable - This is money that is available to spend on a day to day basis. Knowing this number can decrease so much stress when you go to open your banking app

- Do you have enough courage to figure these two numbers out?
- Are those numbers lower than you would like? Maybe this is showing that you could use some wisdom on where your finances should be committed.
- Are those numbers higher than you expected? What a great opportunity to ask God what impact you can have for His glory.
