DAY 18 - Use Money Don’t Chase It
Read It
1 Timothy 6:10
Study It
Most of us have heard some version of 1 Timothy 6 before. But let me set the record straight, MONEY IS NOT THE PROBLEM! The Bible actually says the LOVE of money is the root of all kinds of evil.
First, money itself isn’t the problem. God isn’t anti-money. He knows that having money to take care of your needs is both a necessity and a blessing. There’s nothing wrong with making tons of money. Making money would enable you to save more, give more and do more good in the world.
The problem is the LOVE OF MONEY.
What God is concerned about is not us having money but our money having us. He doesn’t want us to fall in love with money. How many of you know someone that did something stupid because they were blinded by a desire to get money?
One of the ways that you and I can stop chasing money is to put it in the proper perspective in our lives. Do you chase money more than Jesus? I know, sounds so simple but quiet judgmental at the same time, but its a great question is it not? Do I love my money more than I love THE PROVIDER? And, another great question, am I using my money, the PROVIDER gave me, for His purpose and for His glory?

- What are your thoughts on the questions above? What emotions do they bring up?
- Are you willing to be honest and open and ask those questions of yourself?
- If they bring up negative emotions or an unwillingness to ask them of yourself, what do you think that means?
